MESSAGE FROM THE GRAND MASTER OF GLEG (RUY ROCHA DE MACEDO)

Dear Brothers, Sisters-in-law and Nephews,
We are now on the verge of hosting another gathering of the Brazilian Midwest Grand Lodges. I had the pleasant opportunity to promote the second edition of this event in October 2008 in the city of Caldas Novas, and now it will be held in Goiânia, the capital of our state.
In the past two months, a real force composed of Freemasons and sisters-in-law worked diligently to achieve the program of the V Masonic Reunion. Every detail has been carefully studied since it is most important for us to offer not only a full program of conferences and lively social events. Certainly our team has managed the organization and to ensure safety and participation.
We have enough reasons to celebrate, given that we receive visitors from around the mid-west region and even from other states; we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of Goias. Another special moment for us all, those of Goiânia.
Having already achieved three administrations in the Grand Lodge of Goias - and preparing for the fourth - we try to offer a continuity of work done by our predecessors, and share the full physical works that provide more comfort to the entire Masonic family, in addition to give priority to the sense of unity. In the result of this work I see the trust and credibility. The Masonic Grand Lodge of the State of Goias has won its reputation on the national stage thanks to its administration and organization. We are over 3,400 active Freemasons scattered in 117 Lodges within the 75 municipalities of Goias. We work with the eye toward the future, preserving the true treasure that is our tradition.
We hope we can count on your presence in the meeting and our anniversary, and may further strengthen the bonds of fraternity that unite us as what we truly are: Brothers. GLEG awaits you with its open arms to welcome the delegations that will visit us and, most likely, will be pleasantly surprised by the traditional hospitality of the inhabitants of Goias.

Ruy Rocha de Macedo
Grand Master
